Overview:
Ceramic coatings have been very popular with car enthusiasts, sports car owners, and also high end vehicles, now it's time to bring them to the everyday driver! These coatings offer a superior surface protection against the elements, bird droppings, light scratches (9-10H), acid rain, chemicals, etc. The coatings are also extremely hydrophobic, meaning they shed dirt and water easily.
Experience:
At Devlin Detailing, I have done over 375 ceramic coatings from rare show cars to everyday vehicles, work trucks, motorcycles, boats, RV's, etc. Don't trust this process to someone without experience or a warranty backed by a worldwide netwrok, get the most out of your money!
What is coated:
At Devlin Detailing, I do a "roof to road" coating. This means that every exterior painted, glass, non-porous trim, plastic lens and wheel (barrels, faces, and calipers if applicable) surface is coated in my process.
Process:
The process of applying a ceramic coating encompasses a large amount of prep work; the paint should be decontamination washed, clay'd, lightly polished and cleansed of oils and compounds before application of the ceramic coating(s) to achieve the optimum results. Once done properly however, this coating will last for years and years (or a lifetime!).
Products:
While certified to use coatings from multiple manufacturers, I have chosn to focus primarily on the SystemX line of products offered by Element 119. SystemX is located in Connecticut, and all products are manufactured in the USA. Among this line, I prefer to use the Diamond SS and MAX ceramic coatings. I have installed over 170 SystemX coatings as of Q3 2021.
Cost:
Pricing is higher than a normal detail with sealant, as the prep work alone can take many hours of work depending on the size and condition of the vehicle, ranging from $700-$2,000 for our highest end coating. Once finished however, these coatings will protect against fine scratches, bird droppings, acid rain, chemicals and swirls for years with minimal or NO upkeep, as opposed to waxes and sealants which last a maximum of 3-8 months.
Guarantee / Warranty:
SystemX provides the warranty on all their products and I act as a service center for whatever needs to be done. ALL Ceramic coatings applied by Devlin Detailing are also covered under your automotive insurance coverage (with very rare exceptions). If you are in an accident requiring bodywork, the carrier will pay to have the ceramic re-applied as part of the claim.
I am fully certified and accredited to install, maintain and inspect the full SystemX line of coatings (Diamond, Pro, Interior, Glass, Marine, Extreme, MAX and Revive). These coatings are TOP OF THE LINE and offer warranted lifespans of 3 years to a lifetime (with Diamond on cars 0-2 years old, 8 years on older, MAX is Lifetime regardless). These coatings also are registered on your vehicles CarFax report! All SystemX coatings are MADE IN THE USA (Connecticut).
This is the effect ceramic still has on water after a FULL 2 YEARS with no maintenance except regular washing...
